"There are more than 50 kinds of baldness, around ten of which are very typical but are unknown to most patients," explains Amy McMichael, MD, a dermatology instructor at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

1 - Maintain A Balanced Diet Habit

Frieling recommends drinking eight glasses of water every day to maintain your hair healthy.

   

3 - Limit your alcohol consumption

"Excessive savouring booze decreases hair development," warns Frieling. In a 2013 study of male twins published in the journal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, scientists specifically discovered that drinking several drinks per week was associated with baldness.

   

4 - Don't Dye

When it comes to dyeing your hair, be cautious. Products that clean or lessen hair colour remove the protective covering from the hair filaments. 

    

This makes the hair shaft more thin and brittle, making it more prone to damage "Melissa Piliang, MD, a dermatologist, told the Cleveland Clinic.

     

5 - Do not brush wet hair

Avoid using a comb shortly after showering. "Wet hair is in its most fragile, weakest state, therefore the chances of balding increase," Frieling explains. 

     

If you need to take care of your hair while it's wet, she recommends using a wide-toothed brush or "gently used[ing] your fingers to repair knots."

6 - Avoid Tight Hairstyles

Shani Francis, MD, Ashira Industries' leading VP of creative work, takes notice of "Limit bad hair practises so that the hair and scalp are as healthy as possible. 

      

She recommends avoiding "tight (over-controlled) haircuts, excessive item development, [and] continual hair tugging."

       

The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) agrees, noting that hairstyles like as buns, pig tails, dreadlocks, cornrows, and hair augmentations "may cause strands of your hair to break or drop out."

7 - Wearing a same style on a regular basis is not recommended

It aids in changing up your appearance with your locks, especially if you're more wedded to tight styles that pull at your hair. 

     

According to the AAD, you should "attempt not to wear a strongly pulled haircut regularly." They also advised that you "give your hair a chance to recoup" after putting your hair in a style like an interlace or a braid.

    

8 - Reduce your use of the blow dryer

"Allow your hair to air dry at whatever point conceivable," Frieling advises. Also, when blow drying your hair, avoid using the highest temperature setting on your dryer.

   

When Korean researchers studied the effects of using a hiar dryer in 2011, they discovered that "hiar surfaces would generally turn out to be more harmed as the temperature [on the dryer] grew." 

      

According to the findings of their study, which was published in the Annals of Dermatology, they recommend keeping your hairdryer at least six crawls away from your hair when drying and moving it about as much as possible.

9 - Limit the use of other styling equipment

Frieling, like hiardryers, believes that styling equipment should be used on the lowest possible heat setting to avoid future baldness. 

     

Furthermore, while using tools like curling irons and straighteners, she recommends "using heat securing splashes on them" to limit the amount of damage done.

     

10 - Handle Your Anxious Feelings

According to Frieling, there are several types of baldness associated with high levels of anxiety, including telogen effluvium, alopecia areata, and trichotillomania. Regardless of how stress affects their strength under different situations, they are all handled in the same way: by de-focusing.
