BMW brings the classic Mini to life with an electric version
German luxury car group BMW has decided to bring the classic Mini to life again in an electric version that is being produced at the Oxford plant in Britain.
Production of the classic Mini began in 1959 and stopped in 2000 before BMW decided to reintroduce it to the market, replacing the traditional internal combustion engine with an eco-friendly electric motor. The new electric motor has a power of 90 kilowatts. The car can reach a speed of 100 kilometers per hour in just 9 seconds.

The engine gets power from a high-voltage battery with a capacity of 6.6 kilowatts, which allows the car to travel up to 160 kilometers before the need to recharge the battery.
Furthermore, every electric Mini is fitted with a distinctive central instrument cluster, which shows engine temperature, selected driving mode, battery range and vehicle speed.
It is expected that the price of the electric Mini car is more than the price of the traditional version by about 25 thousand pounds.
