Due to a complete halt in production for periods during the shutdown, the major Volkswagen brand sold 4.9 million vehicles last year, down nearly 8% from an already dismal 2020.
At Volkswagen subsidiary Audi, the decline in sales was 7%, with 1.68 million vehicles delivered.
